GROUP THERAPY – FOUR WEEKS
At home. For the holidays. Finally.
Learn more about the program from Lily
At Home is for anyone who feels pulled into frustrating dynamics, old versions of themselves, and the role they’re expected to play whenever they go home for the holidays. This year can be different.
This is for you if…
The thought of going home for the holidays brings a mix of dread and hopefulness
You find yourself reverting back to your 16 year old self every time you walk in the front door of your parents’ house
You're tired of performing the same old and expected role
You want to show up as your current, adult self around your family, even when hot button issues come up
4 SESSIONS
What’s We’ll Cover
ALL SESSIONS WILL INCLUDE MEDITATIONS, JOURNAL PROMPTS, REFLECTION, OPTIONAL SHARING, AND EDUCATION
-
We will use this first session to get to know each other and set some foundations for our time together.
In this session, we will also start to explore the context of our individual families through genograms, writing prompts, and discussion.
-
We’ll continue to explore the context in this session & explore the various roles family members can get placed into and how this shows up for us.
We will also explore what younger versions of ourselves are present around our family, and seek to understand what this self is longing for.
-
This session is about we we connect when what we want to do is shut down or shut out.
We will explore how to show up as our current selves, in a way that feels authentic. We will look at how to notice when we feel activated & explore assumptions and expectations we have of our family. -
We will end our time together by integrating the context, the insight, the tools, and the hope.
This session will be focused on scripts, tools, and techniques you can walk away with to support yourself in feeling at home. Finally.
Guiding you.
I’m Lily, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and I’m honoured to be leading this four week group therapy program.
So much of what I hear from clients is that they feel torn between shutting down, shutting up, or shutting out when they are with family. This group therapy program asks the question, what can authentic connection, not rooted in performance or people pleasing, with family look like?
I look forward to answering this question with you.

Questions about Group Therapy
-
Group therapy is when one psychotherapist works with multiple clients simultaneously.
This group is what is called ‘psychoeducational group therapy’ where the primary focus is developing skills, with the interpersonal connection with others coming secondary.
In this group, you can expect meditations, discussion questions, journal prompts, and educational insights. -
Confidentiality is different in group therapy, as I cannot guarantee that information shared in the group will not be shared outside of it.
All participants will sign a consent form agreeing to keep information confidential and acknowledging the limits of confidentiality in this space. -
If you have extended benefits for psychotherapy, you can likely use them for group. You will receive an invoice each week that you can submit to your benefits provider.
I’d recommend reaching out to your benefits provider to confirm coverage. -
Only those living in Ontario and British Columbia can join this group as this is where Lily holds her licenses.
Current clients can apply to join and can explore what this may look like with Lily in the screening call.
-
You can share as much or as little as you would like. There is no expectation and you will not be called upon to share.
-
Nothing is required, however I’d recommend having a notebook and pen, your favourite beverage, and a comfy blanket. It’s also important to ensure you are in a private space where conversations cannot be overheard.
-
Ideally everyone who signs up can commit to being present for all four weeks. If something comes up that prevents you from joining, I can share resources that we used in session.
Sessions will not be recorded in an effort to create a sense of containment and privacy.
-
To ensure fit between your needs and what this group is offering, all participants will have a screening call with Lily before acceptance into the program.
To get this call scheduled, please fill out the contact form linked on this page and Lily will get in touch soon!
